This professor is extremely strict about following her syllabus and expects every student to do the same. From the very beginning of this online class, she makes it clear that she is completely against the use of AI tools, Grammarly, or any other writing assistance for assignments. She brings this up frequently through announcements and messages, which can feel repetitive. While she emphasizes academic honesty, her stance feels overly rigid and outdated in todayâs digital learning environment. Many online professors now encourage responsible use of technology, but she refuses to consider that perspective. Her teaching style is very structured and lecture-heavy. Most lessons consist of long video lectures or detailed notes. She clearly enjoys presenting her material, but sometimes it feels more like a performance than an attempt to engage students. Her tone in discussion boards or emails can be sassy or sarcastic. Some students might find this entertaining, but others could see it as condescending or unhelpful. Asking questions can feel intimidating because her responses sometimes come across as dismissive rather than supportive. She does offer extra credit, but itâs very limitedâonly four points total. While this technically gives students a chance to boost their grade, it doesnât make a meaningful difference given the strict grading in the course. A major issue in this online class was the SmarterProctoring system for exams. The practice exam included a live proctor, so it set the expectation that all exams would be monitored. However, the real exam did not have a live proctor, which caused confusion and frustration. The inconsistency in proctoring added unnecessary stress, and the platform itself feels inefficient and time-consuming. Clearer communication or a more consistent system would improve the experience significantly. Overall, while this professor is knowledgeable and passionate about her subject, her strict rules, outdated views on technology, and rigid online format make the class frustrating and difficult to enjoy. Between the inconsistent proctoring and minimal extra credit, I would not recommend this online professor at all.
