Curriculum was largely project based rather than regurgitate-on-exam, professor knew the topic inside and out, had real enthusiasm for it, and was happy to show there was always more than one way to do things. My only complaint is that the course needs to be split into a three course sequence and cover more advanced stuff, but that's a dean problem, not a professor one.
