I would not recommend taking a class with Professor Ferguson. This has been one of the most unorganized and discouraging courses Iâve taken in college. He is extremely inconsistent with grading, and more than half of my submitted work sat ungraded for weeks, leaving me with no idea where I stood in the class. He gives almost no feedback, even on major assignments, so thereâs no way to learn from mistakes or improve. His instructions are often unclear, and when misunderstandings happen, he places the blame entirely on the student. For example, I failed an APA outline simply because I submitted the finished version, even though the assignment description never said this would be a problem. Instead of explaining expectations or helping students understand what he wants, he seems more interested in docking points than teaching. The classroom environment is uncomfortable. He frequently calls students out in front of the class and asks for personal information that feels unnecessary and inappropriate. He relies heavily on group work, even though it clearly doesnât work for everyone, and provides no real flexibility or support for students who need it. Overall, Professor Ferguson does not communicate well, does not grade in a timely or fair manner, and does not create a supportive learning environment. His teaching style feels more suited to a strict high school principal than a college professor. I strongly recommend avoiding this class if you want a clear, respectful, and well-structured learning experience.
