Best aspects: Course content is extremely thorough.
Could improve: The course load is heavier than other classes, with easily 2-4 times more assignments than average, including reading, quizzes and papers. She could easily lighten the load while still delivering quality educational content. She often misreads both emails and assignments and fails to respond to the questions asked, or responds to an incorrectly assumed question. Although her grading rubric is quite detailed, it is not uncommon to be graded down on a point that was not included in the rubric. She is a nit-picking grader, who, after marking down a paper to an extreme and harsh degree on minutiae, will additionally assign the final product to an even lower category in the rubric than the content that received comments on the assignments. For example, if the comments on the paper were primarily about citation formatting, with no comments about content or clarity, nevertheless, in the final grade category, the paper would be assigned to the category, “lacks clarity.” The outcome is that A student can deliver A-level work, but still be marked down to B-level. Additionally, her grading annotations come across as quite short and rude.
Advice: Avoid if possible.
